I am finally a proud and happy owner of the most beautiful
Ragdoll I could have asked for. Bugatti is the true form of Ragdolls, a
floppy boy, yet with a quirky and inquisitive attitude with anything that
remotely moves or makes a sound. He adopted his new home with so much
vigilance that what I thought would be a three-week isolation period in a
room, turned out to be only one day. Not an easy task, as my home is quite
busy with three very happy, obnoxious dogs and four other cats varying
ages of 20 years old to 3 years old. He took everything in his stride as
if he got coached into doing it every day. He befriended Molly, my
one male cat in two seconds and since then they are joined at the hip. The
long waiting period was worth it in every way.
I requested a Prospective Kitten Owner Questionnaire form from
Linn in March 2006 after I have phoned her quite a few times over the past
four years. Once I filled in the form and had my interview with Linn, I
couldn’t wait for the ladies to do their calling. Everything fell in place
and on 15 August our newest addition to our home was born. Linn kept in
contact and supplied the new kitten owners with countless updates and
photographs. It is priceless to have an already full album of the most
beautiful and professionally taken photos of him before he stepped foot
into our home. I knew exactly who my kitten was when I saw him the first
time at two weeks old because Linn involved us so much from the start. It
was incredibly difficult to walk away with each visit that followed over
the next 12 – 13 weeks, fighting the urge not to bundle kittens into my
handbag – they were so cute! It was very special to see them grow into
little personalities. By the end of the waiting period, I just fell in
love with all of them, including the other litters.
As most prospective kitten owners, I had my reservations about
the long waiting period. Through the process of visiting, I have learnt
that this time is most valuable and important for the kittens’ emotional
growth. I was scared that he would be too grown up once he comes to me,
but he is still a playful baby. Any time sooner would have been very
cruel. After my experience with Linn, I will never support any breeder
again if not based on the same principles like Raglin’s. I hope in future
the other kitten breeders in SA will also adopt her guidelines in breeding
happy, healthy and relaxed kittens for new owners to enjoy.
I miss the Saturday visits and even picked a few tears saying
goodbye to the other kittens that I have come to love. Driving away, with
my little treasure was an extremely happy day. My vet was very impressed
with the kitten, all the forms that were sent with from Linn, the special
toys and gift parcel. He said he has never seen a finer example of a
quality and healthy bred kitten like Bugatti. Apart from being the proud
owner of such a gorgeous boy, I felt very happy that even he agreed that
Linn went beyond her call of duty to ensure that her kittens are healthy
once they leave. He would certainly recommend Raglin Ragdolls in future.
Linn is a “difficult” breeder; in that she will not let anyone
just adopt one of her kittens with-out going through the whole adoption
process. I cannot find fault with that, as she is really unique and stand
apart from a business of breeders that mostly is in it to get money and
not bother about the quality of kittens they breed and not hesitate to
deliver to unqualified owners. She will not think much of turning a
prospective owner down if she believes the kitten will not be safe or
properly looked after. It is not a profit driven breeding of litter after
litter. She genuinely cares for her cats and takes great care and utmost
responsibility of where her kittens go.
I am extremely grateful to Linn and Robert for their
hospitality over these months, opening their home to us to enjoy and get
to know our kittens. Linn and Robert also took some time to photograph my
existing cats and spoiled them with their own goody bag filled with the
most amazing imported toys.
Linn, thank you for capturing my
old man and leaving some very special memories for me now that he has
sadly passed away.

After
spending weeks surfing the web, looking at several cat sites, checking out
almost every breed of cat available, nothing really looked appealing to
me. As I was about to give up
hope in search of a new companion, I stumbled upon Linn and Robert
Currie’s Ragdoll site. I scanned through every page with a fine toothed
comb, trying to familiarise myself with the breed. Every time a question
popped into my head, bam there was the answer. I wasted no time in
contacting Linn for her Kitten Owner Questionnaire so see if I would
qualify to own one of these amazing gentle giants.
I passed the
questionnaire, but that’s when the real interview process started. Linn
invited me to her home so she could meet my beloved and me, and monitor
how we socialised with her cats. I was privileged enough to view my soon
to be little angel with his mommy at two weeks of age!
Then the waiting
started - 12 more weeks till Cherokee would come home with us. It all
sounded very depressing having to wait that long, but there is good reason
for that. Kittens need to be with their siblings and mother for that time,
to learn social skills, to build up their body’s immunity, gain confidence
and start the character building process.
It’s amazing how
every Saturday when we visited; one could see the growth - not just
physically but mentally as well. If for some reason you miss a Saturday,
Linn keeps you up to date with your kitten’s progress by emails and
photographs on an almost daily basis. I always laughed, as Linn would
check my pockets to make sure there wasn’t a kitten there when we left,
because she knew how anxious we were.
Linn and Robert are
warm, kind souls, who do only what is best for their cats. The premises is
spotless and secure. All their cats are in excellent condition and free to
roam around the house and be cats, not breeding machines. It doesn’t end
there, when you take your bundle of joy home, Linn will be on the phone,
making sure her child is well settled, is healthy and happy and she is
available 24/7 to give advice.
It has be an
absolute pleasure dealing with Raglin Ragdolls and I am truly blessed with
my Lil’ Cherokee Starr whom has brought so much light and joy to my
life.

Stumbling upon Linn
Currie's Ragdoll website was a true gift from above!
As a first-time Ragdoll owner, I have to say that
all my expectations of this spectacular breed have
been exceeded. Ragdolls are a tonic for the soul,
are like manna from heaven.
Becoming the owner of two beautiful
Ragdolls has been a wonderful journey. From the nervous first meeting
with Linn (known for her passion for Ragdolls and strict vetting of
prospective kitten owners) to being welcomed into the Currie's home every
Saturday. Sharing "cat
tales", meeting other kitten owners, precious time spent bonding with my
kitten, choosing names to finally saying a sad goodbye to Linn and Robert
and taking my kittens home.
It was a
long wait and purchasing two kittens at the one time was pricey but
without hesitation I can say that the wait was well worth it and I would
pay double the price for what I got. My two Ragdolls are exquisite,
inside and out. They are
gentle and loving, very welcoming of visitors, playful, confident, silly,
entertaining and have touched the hearts of all who meet them. Their beauty surpasses that of any
other breed I have owned, silky soft manageable fur, mesmerising blue eyes
with a healthy and strong physique.
My advice to any first-time
Ragdoll owner is to please be responsible, don't buy a Ragdoll un-less you
are willing to spend lots of time with them, change your house and habits
to ensure their safety. Take SPECIAL care of your kittens,
they are oh-so trusting (they view the world with rose-tinted glasses),
are very clumsy (don't leave breakables in harms way, watch out for high
ledges), are so inquisitive (they will want to help you with all your
chores) and will want to investigate everything (especially if it's new) -
they will sniff, poke, taste...
So when Linn tells you about kitten-proofing your home, it is with
good reason, please heed all the advice she gives, as she is spot-on with
her understanding of this breed.
The best
thing is that as my Ragdoll journey is only just beginning, every day the
bond gets stronger and the love deeper as I watch my kittens grow bigger
and build character. I have
great peace of mind knowing that I can call Linn at any time for advice or
just to share a story, she understands and is passionate about every
single kitten soul she gives away.
You have to experience it to
understand it!

If you are a bit like me you headed straight for the
reference page of Linn’s website in the hope to find that final answer
whether a Ragdoll is indeed the most adorable cat in the world and whether
the it is the pet for you?
Well to be honest – no one in the whole
world can in words describe the amazing joy and love a Ragdoll brings into
your home and into your heart! Therefore, I don’t think I have the answer
to your question but my story might convince you that sooner or later you
would want one of these!
From the moment Carlos stepped outside
his carrier that Monday night we went to collect him he landed right in
the middle of my heart (and my husband’s
heart) to take up every little spare piece I had
left to give away!
All credit to the wonderful and loving
breeders that bring these amazing cats into the world – Linn and Robert.
The weeks I spent at the Currie’s visiting Carlos, I soon realised their
cats are more than children in their house – they are companions that
share every moment of their lives with them. Ragdolls is their passion and
they have created a way to share this passion with others (luckily I was a
chosen one!).
The cats that leave Raglin cattery are so
well trained and I did not have one day’s trouble trying to teach Carlos
what is a scratch post, litter box or cat flap (Maybe we must give some
credit to the very clever cats we have ?!?). The length of time the
kittens remain with their mothers is to their own benefit and they learn
so much from all the other cats in the cattery during this time. Linn just knows what is best for
the kittens and what is so wonderful about her is, she takes so good care
of each kitten as though it is the first one she is
breeding!
Since Carlos became part of our family I
really got an adorable friend who is ever so interested in everything I
do. When I play piano he wants to sit on top of the piano and see what I
do, if I work in the garden he wants to be there when I plant flowers or
take out weed.
He never leaves my side and thrives on
attention and it is so cute how he every morning asks for a cuddle after a
long night without even a tummy rub.
Now for the friendly warning – the Ragdoll
owns YOU! It is addictive and you can’t get enough of them. And if you
think they grow attach to you, it is not half as bad as how you grow
attach to them. To hold them, to love them, to see them play and to see
how glad they are when they see your face in the morning become so
important to you!
I sincerely want to thank Linn for opening
up this magical closet full of Ragdoll surprises when she decided that I
can have Carlos - I can not stress enough how a good breeder and person
she is. It is the breeder that makes the cat and Linn puts in so much
effort in breeding the best cats in SA.
Thank you for the best cat I have ever
had!

When we first decided to look for a breed we searched the
Internet for the right breed and then I found Linn's awesome
website. We just had to have a Ragdoll. I made my first
contact and Linn promptly responded with a kitten application form.
Once we'd read the form we knew we had the right breeder.
We went to
the first interview with Linn and we were very impressed with Linn, her
professionalism, infinite knowledge and boundless love of cats. I
was so pleased to see how content all the cats are, Linn's home is just
that - a 'home' and her cats definitely rule her house. After
chatting for sometime we then met Yum-Yum together with his brothers and
sister. It was love at first sight and suddenly, I was nervous,
hoping that Linn would approve of our family, I sensed from the start,
Linn doesn't just let anyone adopt her babies. Thank goodness Linn
did approve but said to us we needed a 'cool off' period to ensure that we
were very sure about our decision to adopt and although we agreed, we knew
we didn't need any 'cool off' period, we were smitten.
I couldn't
wait for the following week to visit the kittens and although 14 weeks
sounds long, with every visit I realised how important it is that the
kittens spend this time with mom and Linn. In this time, Linn
ensures that the kittens get all the proper nutrition, attention and
socialisation they need to be happy, healthy and confident.
Linn also gave me much needed guidance on providing Yum-Yum with a safe,
healthy environment.
Finally, Yum-Yum came to his new home
and from the first moment he was His Royal Majesty. He has from day
one brought so much pleasure and laughter into our lives. He has
abundant confidence, an enormous personality, astonishing beauty,
mesmerizing blue eyes and has something to say about everything in a whole
range of kitty talk. Yummy has a very firm grip on our hearts and he
knows it, we can't imagine life now without him.
Linn, thank
you, thank you, thank you. You have not only given us the privilege
of this very precious gift in our lives but I have also gained a
friend. I feel confident and safe knowing you are a phone call away.
You are always willing to give advice when needed and always enthusiastic
to hear about the in/outs of Yummy's life, I am so pleased to have met
you. Keep doing what you do so well with your unwavering passion,
love and care for your Ragdolls because more people de-serve what we
already have.

When we decided to
adopt a new member of the family we surfed the Internet for days trying to
decide on the right breed. We happened to come across Linn’s site.
We were immediately impressed by the
professional look of the site and of course the
absolutely beautiful cats! We contacted Linn and she sent
us her questionnaire which has to completed by all prospective
owners.
14 weeks is a long time to wait for
your baby, but it is worth the wait!
We are now the
proud parents of Mish Mish! She knows how to use her litter, eats well and
is very confident!
If you expect pedigree, Linn’s
kittens will surpass your expectation! Linn is the type of breeder who
wants to make sure her kittens go to good homes and is always ready to
give advice. Remember, by being accepted by Linn for adoption, you are
adopting a baby and not a cat! It is FAMILY!
Mish Mish is our little girl and she
has a little brother who is 3 and a four-legged brother, our white
Alsatian Ice.
Ragdolls are addictive!!

I first
was introduced to the Ragdoll breed by pure chance. I came across an
article in Animal Talk, which described and showcased the breed. I
immediately fell in love. I
began searching high and low for a breeder in Cape Town and by pure
accident came across Linn's website. After much examination of the site, I
plucked the courage and sent an e-mail requesting to become a proud
Ragdoll owner.
Linn
responded immediately with a 27-question questionnaire that I was asked to
fill in. Upon completion and evaluation of the questionnaire, I would be
informed if my home was suitable.
I admit that we started off on the wrong foot, as our home computer
broke down and was away for repairs, for ages. Linn had in the
meanwhile thought that I was no longer interested and had sent me an
e-mail telling me that she was cancelling my kitten. Image my shock, when
I finally was able to access my e-mail and found this. Luckily we were able to resolve
the misunderstanding and I was still on track to get a kitten.
Linn must
have liked me, as I am now the proud owner of a Cream Mitted Ragdoll,
named Gryff aka The Terror. ;)
Communication is very important as Linn gives detailed
information on how your kitten is growing, exploring and creating mischief
wherever it grows. We
are even fortunate enough that Linn sends each owner pictures whenever she
is able to. Thank you
Linn. These pictures show how happy, beautiful and relaxed your kitten
is.
After much
anticipation, the big day finally arrived and I arrived early at the
Airport to fetch Gryff. He looked me over and decided that I was his mommy
and the rest was history. He
has adjusted well and extremely quickly in the time that he has been with
us. I have three older cats in the house and was fortunate enough that
when the initial unease had passed that all of them have bonded to the
extent that they are inseparable.
My Vet took
one look at him and commended Linn, as she is one of very, very few
breeders that insist on a health check once the kitten has arrived.
Yes, the
price does seem expensive but once you see the service, professionalism
and your kitten, the price seems too low for what you receive. I have a very happy,
well-adjusted, friendly and loving cat. He loves to sit on my shoulders,
press my head down and play with my hair band while I try to read a
book.
I would not
trade him for all the money in the world.

If you do not
believe in love at first sight, wait until you receive your first Ragdoll
kitten.
The long
wait until your baby is fourteen weeks old is all worth it. I had concerns
that she would be too old and would not bond but my fears were all in
vain. From the moment Tonks arrived she fitted in. Within four days Tonks
and my two adult cats had already made friends. My existing two cats came
from a pet shop at the “normal” age of six to eight weeks. I could
immediately see the difference. Tonks was calm, confident and
self-assured, full of love and mischief. She had been taught how to
play and interact with humans and other animals. We had no problems with
her using the litterbox or her scratch posts. She fitted into her new
environment and even took meeting the dogs in her stride.
When first enquiring about obtaining a Ragdoll I
was a bit nervous of Linn and the questionnaire. However I can see why she is so particular and I now
appreciate it. My kitten arrived in the best of health and completely
ready for her new environment.
As per my contract with Linn, I took her for the contractual
veterinary examination on the day of her arrival and the vet was very
impressed with the quality of the kitten.
Since Tonks
arrived with all her goodies, Linn has in no way forgotten about her. She
phones and emails regularly to check up on her baby and to ensure that
everything is fine. She is always available for advice and to listen to
stories. Tonks did not want to eat the first night she arrived. Linn waited until 11pm that
evening before going to sleep, as she wanted confirmation that Tonks had
finally eaten and used the litter box.
Ragdolls are
addictive and if you want not just a pet but also another family member,
get a baby from Linn - they are worth the wait and every cent.

It is difficult to sum up my experience of adopting a
kitten from Linn. It has been such a joy right from the start. Linn always
made me feel included in my kitten’s development, which was much
appreciated as I was not able to attend the Saturday kitten owner
visits. On the two occasions
that I was able to visit Linn’s home, she made me feel so welcome.
It was
so wonderful to visit the “cat haven” and to meet Linn’s beautiful
cats. I witnessed Linn’s
dedication first hand. She was also very patient with my many questions
and I still feel I can con-tact Linn at any time if ever I needed advice or
just to chat.
As for my
boy Kimba - I couldn't have asked for a sweeter, gentler little
friend. He brightens my day
from when he wakes me at about 5am till when we go to sleep. Some friends
have asked me whether I wouldn't have wanted a younger kitten and I
even had questions regarding the price of Linn’s kittens. I must say that if I was a
breeder, I would have it exactly the same way. The kit-tens arrive at just the
right age and are worth every cent. Kimba arrived the picture of health;
litter box trained; uses his scratch posts and is very well adjusted -
absolutely purrfect!
Linn - you
are one in a million. Your excellent standard is driven by pure passion,
love and devotion to these majestic animals. I only wish there were more
breeders like you out there.
Thank you
Linn, for my beautiful boy Kimba.

I would like to
take the time to thank you for the wonderful blessing of a beautiful,
healthy and well-adjusted kitten I purchased from you. Her
affectionate name is "Annie".
Looking back
I now understand what a good breeder is all about. I have never had
the privilege of dealing with such a knowledgeable, passionate,
responsible and caring person as you are, always putting the kittens’ best
interest first.
I received
guidance and encouragement from you since the moment I was accepted as the
privileged owner of Annie. You have
unbelievable knowledge of each kitten’s character
and temperament and the marrying of the character to
the new owners. In only two
weeks the character match shows that Annie and I are one and the
same.
I never felt
nervous to take Annie home as I have access to your knowledge and
experience; your constant contact enquiring on her well-being; and your
briefs over the thirteen weeks on kitten care sure made me feel at
ease.
I have said
many times on experiencing your cattery, what it entails to breed.
The monetary exchange for Annie is tuppence for the
spotless, safe and caring environment Annie was subjected to. You went to the
trouble of sending me progress photos of Annie, articles of kitten care
and diet and a beautiful laminated pedigree of Annie’s
ancestors.
Thank you
also for accepting me into your home to see Annie each week and getting to
know and trust me to take ownership of her.
I thank you
from the bottom of my heart and know the Ragdoll breed is very privileged
to have you as a breeder.
Thanks
again

It was wonderful communicating with you. You do everything so precise and
professionally – always willing to give advice and to help, and only the
best is good enough for your kittens.
Thank you for the emails and specially
the photographs – it made the “waiting” easier.
Thank you for a disciplined, healthy and
beautiful kitten!

There are breeders who are only in it for the
money, they don’t love and care for their kittens, they just want to
breed as many kittens as they can because their aim is to get rid of
them ASAP and pocket the money...Then there are breeders who are the total
opposite, they do it because they love their cats and kittens like they
were their own children, and they want others to experience the Ragdoll
breed, and only the BEST of everything is good enough for these kittens.
We have experienced both types of breeders... and are very blessed to have
met the second type of breeder, Linn, who is more of the "saint
of Ragdoll cats" than a breeder.
Linn Currie is the only name you have to remember when looking
for an elite breeder. We are amazed by her love, professionalism and
expertise in dealing with kittens and the Ragdoll breed. From the moment
we received her questionnaire to fill out we knew this is exactly the
breeder we were looking for. A no nonsense straight to the point breeder
who will not give her precious babies to just anybody, someone who will
ensure her kittens go to the safest, loving, caring homes
possible. That is what Linn gives her cats and kittens in her home, how
can she choose homes for them that offer anything less!
Having been welcomed into Linn’s home, and
seen the amount of compassion, hard work and money she puts into her cats and kittens, it
becomes quite apparent that making a profit is the furthest thing from her
mind.
We were very fortunate to have adopted two of the most
beautiful, loving, healthy babies from two different litters from
Linn. We were so impressed with Jessie’s health, beauty and personality
that we couldn’t resist getting another baby from Linn. They are both very
confident, large kittens, and even though they were from different litters
born 2 months apart, it took a couple of days for them to become best
friends, they are now inseparable. Much to our delight, they both love
being brush-ed, cuddled and kissed, we believe this is because Linn gave
them so much love and attention while in her care, they came home to us
very well socialized.
An added bonus is that we were able to visit our kittens every
weekend and got to be part of their lives from their first weeks. During
these visits we became very good friends with Linn and her husband Rob,
and although the babies have been with us for a couple of months now, just
like a good grandparent, Linn still enquires about them and asks for
photo's. This just goes to show how much Linn cares for each and every
litter.
The amount of expert advice and endless help we received
from Linn and Rob in preparing our home for the kittens came much needed
and greatly appreciated. We wanted the best of the best, and that’s exactly what we got
from Raglin Ragdolls.
Thank you Linn & Rob for your excellent cattery, your
patience with all our questions, all the help you have given us, and for
the most amazing kittens we could ever have asked for, you simply are the
BEST of the BEST!

Annie with Molly
& Tommy - age 14 months
After Minky (our 2 year old) Persian died we were devastated
and at first didn’t want any more cats. Once we had started coming to
terms with our loss we realized that we would like another cat and began
to look around at the various breeds and breeders.
I contacted
Linn by e-mail and received a questionnaire back, which was quite
comprehensive.
After filling in the form and returning it, Linn advised us that we
had been approved for adop-tion.
The kittens had not been born yet but from that day forward Linn
communicated with me on a daily basis, helping me to come to terms with
the death of Minky, informing me of the pro-gress of the expecting mom
(Lori) and on 30 June when we returned from our shopping, we received a
SMS telling us that the first kitten had been born.
One of the most amazing experiences of my life was about to
begin.
Linn kept in daily contact advising me how the kittens were doing,
sending e-mail pictures, a video, literature, websites of cat furniture
(as we had decided to make our own and needed ideas), sourcing a carrier
for us and even accommodating me on a visit and fetching me from the
airport, not forgetting the huge par-cel of toys for each kitten.
Linn and Robert are exceptionally caring and are passionate about
what they do.
The advice never stopped, whenever there were any questions from my
side, Linn answered in detail.
We had many telephone conversations.
During a second visit we were present during the birth of a
litter and we were able to witness first hand how professional Linn and
Robert are.
Their care and attention for the mother cat as well as the newborn
kittens is something I will never forget.
This really was a memorable and amazing experience.
When the day finally arrived to fetch our two (we decided to
get two) little furry children we were so excited.
They settled in so well and by the first evening they were
comfortable enough to sleep on top of the bed instead of underneath it
demonstrating that they did not feel threatened in any way.
The kittens’ temperament is wonderful, they are beautiful and
everyone has fallen in love with them.
They are so responsive and have already brought so much joy into
our lives.
To
Linn and Robert we say a big thank you for all your care, concern and for
going the extra mile all the time.
Thank you for your patience, hospitality and all the hard work you
put into raising your children, to bring joy to the lives of others.
The price of the kittens may seem high but they are worth every
cent and I can assure anyone that Linn and Robert are not making money out
of their kittens.
The upkeep of their environment and the care they lavish on the
adult cats and kittens costs a lot in terms of effort and finance.
You won’t find a better or more caring breeder than Linn and you
won’t find a better breed of cat than a Ragdoll.
